When I talk to my dad friends who are also entrepreneurs like me, we always talk about how creativity—taking something from 0 to 1—is a way of telling the world, “This is what I value.” Every post, every book, every marketing email, every deal closed, every business—they all are representations of what the creator values. They are an embodiment of how the creator thinks the world does and should work.
Long-winded way of saying: Thanks, again, for your posting. Really thought provoking!

I wholeheartedly agree—now more than ever, we need fuel for our minds that nourishes and sustains us. And our reading is so much a part of that. I've been writing on similar themes on my Substack too (a similar theme for Monday). I've been trying to create a place of literary hospitality where we can think about and find solutions for our modern lives through books and quality reading. I love this line from your essay: "This is how books may save us—one daydream at a time." Yes—one daydream- even one day—at a time! Thank you for the inspiration! 🙏💖

My daughter and I have been watching the Netflix show, Anne with an E. Brings back so many memories of reading the story -- I, too, lived in an imaginary world. Have you watched the show?
Yes! I really enjoyed it. I thought nothing could be worth watching after I was spoiled by the 1980’s version that I was obsessed with, but I really loved how creative Anne with an E was in expanding the world of the books, and the actors are great!
